Volume 2

Volume 2 started allowing "non-punk" bands to participate in the compilations. I have always liked lots of different music styles, so in order to check out more bands, I had to loosen the rules I instated. It was the best decision I ever made with the comps.

Volume 1

When I first started this in 2003, it was supposed to be an online Cleveland punk compilation. I was quite naive in thinking that people would download all the songs, listen to them in order, and even enjoy a sleeve to print out. I tried putting all the songs in order, "master" them to the same volume, etc. To make it even more cumbersome, I created a PDF file booklet with a page for each band. A bit too ambitious...

Believe it or not, not everybody had broadband back in '03, so I listed the tracks separately instead of zipping them all together. I originally zipped each song individually, but that proved to be a problem for some? Once I had the files up, people would use them for their own web pages background music, using up my bandwidth. Hopefully these are not issues anymore. Here's the entire first comp "Cleveland-Aint It Fun Vol. 1"

Welcome!

This is the new version of Cleveland - Aint It Fun. It will feature mp3s of local bands from the Cleveland-Akron-Kent areas. In the past it was run like an online compilation, but now it will just be random updates with hopefully music, photos/fliers, and interviews of the bands.
In the near future I will post information about contacting me to get your music on the blog, but for the time being, I'm going to start uploading the old comps over the next few days.
